Kickstart Your Productivity In The Morning

Maintaining productivity in this work-from-home era can be hectic. Snacking while working, doing the chores, and meeting deadlines – multitasking does not always translate to productivity. Kickstarting your day right will allow you to set boundaries and build a routine for yourself. If you’ve been struggling to set a morning schedule, here are some tips that would help you stay on track for the rest of the day.

Plan Your Day Ahead

Nodding off an hour earlier will help you when your alarm rings in the morning. Plus, making a to-do list the night before always helps you to get started easily. If you are a night owl and want to change your routine, try going to bed 5 minutes earlier each night until you find the time that works for you. Or go with a night-time ritual to unwind – take a bath to cool down, massage your feet to soothe the nervous system, and put on a pair of cosy pyjamas to treat yourself.

Get Ready Even If You Are Not Going Anywhere

Get up with a reason to do something that makes you happy. Water your plants, get a hot cup of coffee (or tea) and soak in some sun for vitamin D. And yes, don’t forget to take a shower – pretend you are getting ready for office. Following your regular skin care routine of cleansing, toning and moisturising will help you feel refreshed. Don’t skip the sunscreen.

Tip: Do your hair and put on some lip gloss so that you can attend unscheduled video calls with finesse. Check out our blog on how to prep for video calls for more details!

Hydrate, Hydrate, Hydrate

Drinking water in the morning will prepare your body for the day ahead. Keep a bottle handy for a fuss-free morning, it helps. If you wanna experiment with your morning beverage, try lemon-infused water. Add cucumber slices or a pinch of turmeric in it to change the taste from time to time.

Breakfast With A Good Podcast

Reward yourself with a hearty first meal of the day, and listen to your favourite podcast to boost your mood and energy. High-fibre carbohydrates help you regulate your blood sugar levels and lean protein keeps you full for a longer period. Folks who go for healthy snacking can choose to add a few slices of multigrain toast to go with their fruit bowls.

Tip: Cut down on extra sugar, it can take a toll on your skin and health.

Small Breaks To Keep You Sane

Say bye to burnouts due to isolation, unmanageable workload, or distractions. Make sure you’re practising workday self-care every day. Listen to your favourite playlist that makes you focused and energized. You can diffuse essential oils or light incense sticks to boost the mood.

Yoga And Meditation For Good Health

Meditation and yoga are powerful ways to relax your mind and body. Play soothing music, close your eyes and meditate. Also, yoga can be an option for the gym and outdoor exercises that you have been missing out on. Pull out your yoga mat and check out our Yoga Break blog to know how to start.

Tip: Try a few facial yoga moves to keep that face nice and tight.

Try out these simple tricks to kickstart your productivity. As you can see, they are nothing but a few changes in your daily habits. If you find it difficult to mould them all of a sudden, try to pick one at a time. We will be honest. You might not see a change in your morning productivity right away. But we can surely promise you this: stick to it and you will see the difference yourself.
