Dussehra Lookbook End Navratri Feeling like a Million Dollars

The nine-day long fervour, fasting, and festivities draw to a close with Dussehra celebration, bringing a good 20-day pause to revelry until Diwali. Of course, the grand finale of this first spell of the festive season calls for a grand celebration. As you chalk out your itinerary for Dussehra pooja, Ravan Dahan and a bash afterwards, we bring you three stunning looks to end Navratri looking like a million dollars:

Totally Traditional
If there is one iconic figure who embodies and nails the idea of the traditional Indian beauty, it is Madhuri Dixit. There could be no better place to look for inspiration for your Dussehra look than her Instagram account. Lo and behold, we found the perfect ensemble for the festival. This lightly embellished lehenga. A soft, soothing yellow, juxtaposed with vibrant cyan is just right for both daytime and evening festivities.

You can work with any lehenga or traditional ensemble with a similar colour combination. For makeup, the first and most important part of getting this look right is prepping your face for a flawless finish with L’Oreal Paris Infallible Foundation, Kareena Kapoor Khan Lakme Absolute Face Contour and Revlon Photoready Insta Fix Makeup Stick concealer. Add a nice, dark effect to your eyes without going all-out smokey with BeYu Catwalk Star Eyebrow Powder Atoms 3523, a tinge of eyeliner and kohl on your lash lines and voluminous mascara like the BeYu Volume Now Mascara Black. Use a rich but subtle colour like Maybelline New York Superstay Matte Ink Liquid Lipstick Loyalist on the lips for a stunning, elegant look.

Modern Ethnic
If you prefer a fusion between modern and ethnic, this look by, Aishwarya Rai, is the way to go. Sporting a minimalistic black-and-white printed saree, combining it with bold makeup, Aishwarya looks every bit the glam girl she is.

For this look, you can choose any simple, printed crepe saree from your (or your mom’s) wardrobe. Jazz up your face to balance out the understated outfit. Once you are done prepping your face, add a touch of bronzer like FACES Canada Ultime Pro Bronzing Powder on your cheekbones and just a tad on the nose. Work your eyes with thick winged eyeliner, brown kajal on the lower lash line, create a nude look for the eyelids with the Maybelline New York Tone On Tone Nudes and add a touch of mascara to your lashes. Bring a pop of colour to your face with Aishwarya Rai endorsed L’Oreal Paris Color Riche Matte Obession Lipstick 346 Scarlet Silhoute.

Casual and Comfy
Not everyone likes to carry off lehengas and sarees on every festive occasion. Some just prefer comfort over panache. However, that does mean you cannot keep it stylish. Check out this Alia Bhatt look that brings out the diva her without being too flamboyant or overtly traditional.

Any floral-printed suit or a kurta-palazzo set will do for this look. It is best suited for those lean toward a nude, natural look. Having prepped your face with foundation and concealer or a face primer like L’Oreal Paris Base Magique Transforming Smoothing Primer, create a sun-kissed look with BeYu Catwalk Powder Blush Burned Cinnamon, add eyeliner, kajal and transparent mascara to the eyes and finish off with a nude eyeshadow and lip colour.
