What is the first thing that a young woman should look at when starting her beauty regim?

If you want to look your best, what should you think about first? Your skin. Skin that’s healthy looking radiates a glamorous glow. With that being said, you should first meet a dermatologist or a cosmetologist to understand the state of your skin. Take their advice when choosing the right products. You should invest in a complete range of products from the same brand so that your skin gets the benefits of the active ingredients that are often present through the various products in the range.

What is the basic regime that one should start with?

While regular skin cleansing, toning and moisturising are clearly beneficial, exfoliating your face on a regular basis can help your skin in a big way. Exfoliation works on all types of skin, no matter it is dry, normal, oily or sensitive. If you suffer from acne scars or fine lines then seek a dermatologists help in getting a microdermabrasion. That will give you a clear complexion. You should never forget to take off your makeup at night. Cleanse, tone, and moisturise twice daily to get beautiful, supple skin.

What is that one important product you feel we should all have?

Sunscreen. Skin damage from sunlight builds up with continued exposure, whether sunburn occurs or not. In addition to skin cancer and sunburn, other effects can include wrinkling, premature aging, and in course of time, it results in an almost leathery and dull appearance of the skin. Apply sunscreen that’s broad spectrum regularly whether it is sunny or cloudy to stay young and have a healthy skin.

What should be the no-fuss hair care regime?

Long, thick, bouncy, beautiful voluminous hair is a sign of vitality and youthfulness. Shampoo with mild product, condition your ends, and apply a heat protector before blow-drying. Also, treat hair to a weekly deep conditioner to replenish moisture and seal the cuticles, meaning fewer split ends. Massaging scalp with warm oil also improves blood circulation to the roots, and that means healthy follicles.

Is it important to give hands and feet special care?

Not only do your nails need to be cut to the right length, filed, cleaned and painted, your hands and feet also need to be kept soft and glowing. Keep hands soft by massaging a hand cream every time you wash your hands. You also need to take regular care of your feet. At least twice a week use a foot file or emery board to slough off rough skin from heels and balls of your foot, and clean with a foot scrub. Then apply foot cream daily to keep skin soft and feet looking beautiful. Paint your toenails in your favourite colour.

Is it important to wear a perfume always?

Nobody likes bad body odour. So wear a deodorant or perfume, it also keeps you feeling fresh and saves you from embarrassment. If you sweat a lot, then using a roll-on on your underarms will help control your sweat, and prevent staining your clothes. Consult a dermatologist if you feel youyr sweating is out of control.

How much makeup is right?

To look well-groomed it is a good idea to invest in a lipstick, an eyeliner, a BB cream and a mascara. You can use them on a daily basis to look fresh and groomed without looking too made up. It is important to use high quality make up and make sure you take it off completely before going to bed to continue to have good skin.

Is drinking enough water really essential for the appearance of your skin?

The answer is a resounding yes! Skin is intricately tied to the overall health of your body. When your body is properly hydrated, you’ll look better and feel better. Water gives you a radiant complexion and in addition, bloating and puffiness often disappears. So replenish yourself with water at every opportunity you get.
